In one of the most beautiful enclaves of the Cantabrian Coast, only 6 kilometres fronm the Altamira Caves and Santillana del Mar, is the village of Suances. It is famous for its beaches, its gastronomy and it is characterized by a young atmosphere, that is reflected in the charismatic ‘Los Locos’ Beach as well as the famous Wednesdays fancy party nights.
Suances bets on beach sports: international championships of beach volley, handball and tennis which are celebrated every summer, in addition to numerous competitions of surf. Indeed, surf has been such a part of this town history for more than 30 years, that talking about Suances or ‘Los Locos’ beach is to talk about Surf.
Every year, ‘Los Locos’ Surf Club and the Cantabrian Federation of Surf organize the "Surfing Event Billabong" the most important test of the Cantabrian Circuit and it counts towards the National Circuit.

In the coast of Suances you can enjoy four magnificent beaches for surfing. Each one of them with its particularitities (as much of direction as of force of the surge). For this reason, the possibilities to surf every day are very high and adapted for the different levels.

In addition, the town of Suances is located in the middle of the province of Cantabria, so it is easy to get to many of the places of touristic interest of our region like Cabarceno Nature Park (25 min.), the Cave of El Soplao (30 min.), Cave of Altamira and Santillana del Mar (10 min.), Santander city (20 min.) or Liébana (50 min.)
